Your Personality

The Enneagram, is a personality test that helps you discover how you give and receive value to others and how you would like to be seen by others. Out of the nine different personality types there will be one that you should identify more closely with. This will help you to develop some self-awareness of how you think about things. As we understand other people’s personality types we can understand how they see and think about things and how we can work together even if we think about things differently.

Baptism

Leading up to, or during connect we hope that you have made the decision to be a Christian. Though this is a personal and individual decision the Bible is very clear that once we have the decided to follow Jesus it is something that we must to share with our community. Starting with Jesus himself, a life connected to God and the transformation that follows. (serving God, serving people and growing in our faith.) has always been marked by water baptism. Water baptism in itself is a natural act, pointing to a spiritual one that Christ has done in our lives. It is a representation of our decision to die to ourselves (going under the water) and becoming alive in Christ. (coming out of the water).

If you’ve never been baptized or you’ve never done it publicly, we would encourage you to take this step.

Steps for baptism

1. Sign up to be baptized
2. Receive the date of our next baptism share invites to your friends and family, that you have made an important decision your life and you have an event that you would like to share with them.
3. Arrive on baptism day with a change of clothes and an outfit that you are comfortable getting wet in.
4. Join us on baptism Sunday and let us take care of everything for you share this amazing decision with your community.

Your Gifts

We also all have certain areas of service that we are both talented and passionate about. As well as the gift test these can often be identified by, when you see that these things aren’t being done it causes you frustration. There are a multitude of gifts that all come from God and have a purpose in helping his kingdom come forward. These gifts in partnership with your particular personality will help us work together to find the areas where you will thrive as you serve God.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the Third person of the Trinity. He is a fully developed person of God. He plays an immense role in our connection and relationship to God.  The presence of the Holy Spirit always proceeds the work of God. In creation we see the Holy Spirit’s presence preceding the word of God. In the New Testament Christ’s followers weren’t sent out into ministry until they received the holy spirit. All believers  since the early church have been exhorted to turn back to God, recognise Christ as their Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit. 

What does it mean to receive the holy spirit? In the New Testament we see two example of receiving the Holy Spirit. When a believer turns back to God the presence of God, the Holy Spirit becomes evident in their life again. The New Testament also speaks of the infilling of the spirit.  When believers are filled with the Spirit they begin to operate in the gifts of the spirit. 

The gifts of the spirit are; 

• Words of Wisdom 
• Words of knowledge 
• Faith
• Healing
• Miracles 
• Prophecy
• Discernment 
• Tongues 
• Interpretation 

Each of these gifts has a public and private use. Paul explains that all of these gifts are given for the building up Christ church. these gifts operate like any other.

1. They are given to those who ask for them.
2. It is up to those who they are given to operate and grow in them.
3. God does not take away gifts just because they weren’t used the way they were intended to. (A gifts isn’t a gift if the giver retains ownership)

The holy spirit is the evidence of relationship with God, and the gifts of the spirit are the tools in which God equips us to live our Christian lives. You cannot be a Christian and disengage from the holy spirit. And you cannot expect to be successful in living for God without engaging with the gift that he has given you to be successful.
